Spring 2010 [PDF]
- Toronto Region Sustainability Program
This issue of At the Source focuses on the Toronto Region Sustainability Program (TRSP) and its community-based projects to promote sustainability through pollution prevention in the greater Toronto region of Ontario, Canada. The program fosters sustainable behaviour among small to medium-sized manufacturers and hospitals. We look at the program, some case studies, and their results, in an effort to promote expansion of the program, and to encourage other jurisdictions to develop and promote their own sustainability programs.

Fall 2009 [PDF] - Winners of the 2009 CCME P2 Awards
This issue of At The Source focuses on the winners of the 2009 Canadian Council of Ministers of the Environment Pollution Prevention (CCME P2) Awards: who they are and what they did to receive an award. The awards were announced at the 13th annual Canadian Pollution Prevention Roundtable held in Charlottetown, PEI, in June 2009. These awards recognized seven businesses and organizations showing leadership and innovation in pollution prevention in five categories: Small Business; Medium Business; Large Business; Organization, Institution or Group; and Greenhouse Gases Reduction.

Summer 2009 [PDF] - Consumer Purchasing & Sustainable Consumption
This issue of at the source focuses on a primary research study of consumer purchasing behaviour undertaken for the Canadian Centre for Polllution Prevention (C2P2). The research investigated Canadian specific purchasing behaviour patterns, and in particular, the environmental factors we consumers take into account when making purchasing decisions of household consumer products; for example, kitchen surface cleaners, transportation, household appliances, and food. The results suggest possible actions that could lead to more of us incorporating sustainable consumption in our purchsing decisions.

Spring 2008 [PDF] - Green Procurement
The focus of this issue is Green Procurement. Topics include: the business case for green procurement; implementing a green procurement program; guides for implementing green procurement policies; examples of existing green procurement programs; challenges to green procurement; on-line tools for implementing green procurement; green certification; green procurement and the home; and, the green procurement of energy.
