CCME Pollution Prevention Awards

Across Canada, business and industry are finding and implementing innovative ways to safeguard the environment.  They’re not just cleaning up the environment; they’re preventing pollution before it occurs.

The Canadian Council of Minister of the Environment (CCME) supports this growing emphasis on pollution prevention, knowing it’s more effective to minimize or avoid creating pollutants and waste at the source than to clean them up after they’ve been produced.  To show its support, CCME sponsored the Pollution Prevention Awards Program from 1997 to 2009 to give national recognition to companies and organizations showing cutting-edge accomplishment and leadership in pollution prevention.

C2P2 partnered with CCME to deliver the Awards Program as part of the annual Canadian Pollution Prevention Roundtable.

The list of winners from the last 3 years of the Awards Program can be found below. Following the 2009 Awards, the program was cancelled by the CCME.
